The Role
DFP Services are looking for a Junior Bid Writer to join our exciting and enthusiastic Bid Team.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll spend time understanding the tender process from end-to-end and drafting compliant submissions. You’ll be required to source, collate, and write high quality tenders and proposals for the company across a range of disciplines. Adding creative flair and expertise, you’ll be able to professionally tailor tender submissions to align our service offering with our customers’ requirements.
Our ethos, communication is key, will be a vital aspect of the role and you’ll be expected to liaise with internal key personnel across our Commercial, Operational and Finance departments to gather relevant evidence.
You will be required to take ownership of each submission from start to finish in a deadline driven environment. High scoring tender submissions will be expected to include clear and tangible benefits for our customers alongside company policies and procedures. You will need the ability to write engaging case studies and method statements.
Reporting to the Bid Manager and Commercial Manager, you’ll be expected to be able to critically analyse tender documentation, lead kick-off meetings to present a storyboard and identify key evidence required for a compelling winning tender submission.
For submissions where a presentation is required, you’ll be confident in preparing and presenting to prospective customers.
The Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities as a Junior Bid Writer will be:
- Reporting to the Bid Manager and Commercial Manager
- Understanding the end-to-end tender process
- Developing high quality tender submissions and proposals
- Writing clear, focused method statements highlighting benefits
- Communicating with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information and evidence
- Meeting the requirements of the Bid Plan
- Proofreading documentation before sending to the Bid & Manager for review
- Managing communication between the client and company throughout the bid process on a range of tender portals
- Creating high quality graphics to support tender responses
Skills Required
- Degree in English or related subject
- Capable of working in a deadline driven environment
- Excellent written communication skills and grammar
- Ability to organise workload with effective time management
- IT Literate
The Training
Full training will be required.
All Junior Bid Writers will be enrolled onto our “Bid Writer Programme”, which involves being enrolled onto an APMP Certified Foundation course to obtain an APMP CF qualification. Upon completion of the course, the individual will advance into the role of Bid Writer.
The Hours
- 00am -16.30pm 5days per week 40 hours.
- Monday to Friday
- Work Location: Office based only
