Braunstone Town Council are responsible for delivering a range of services and promoting the interests of the town and working in partnership with other public bodies.
As the principal contractor, DFP completed the installation and association cabling, electrical, and engineering works for eight 22kw Electric Vehicle Charging Points, installing four at Braunstone Civil Centre and four at Thorpe Astley Community Centre.
On arriving on site, our Engineers found another contractor had used the distribution board that had been earmarked for this project. To resolve this, we generated a quote for a replacement distribution board that was larger and could accommodate both projects.
Demonstrating the success of this project, Braunstone Town Council won the Star Council Award for Best Council in 2023. In the public voted awards, the judges praised the efforts to create a more sustainable future:
“The aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and carbon zero by 2050, coupled with substantial carbon reduction initiatives like installing solar PV panels and electric vehicle charging points, showcased their dedication to sustainability and a greener future”.
